We are currently building at Andrews Road in Vineyard Haven.

Directions to the build site: Please park on Edgartown-Vineyard Haven Road between Winyah Lane and Cook Road/Skiff Avenue, .4 miles from State Road. The build site is on Andrews Road, off of Mud Puddle. There is no street sign for Mud Puddle so please look for a Habitat sign. Walk down Mud Puddle to the build site.

March 25, 2008 - Yesterday afternoon one of James Ferry's guys was mudding. Sheetrock is hung, house looks much smaller as they all do when this happens. Today the furnace will be delivered. Lee and I will move it into the house this afternoon. We had the insulation inspection yesterday.  We will be cleaning up the basement this Saturday (tentative) and setting up for people to paint trim. We also need to finish hanging doors and building the bulkhead door framing. 

March 11, 2008 - We are happy to say that we have passed our electrical, plumbing and framing inspections.  Insulation and drywalling are happening this week and next.

March 1 & 2, 2008 - Vineyard Vines volunteers, some 15 strong, worked hard to accomplish much.  They installed foam insulation under the first floor and around the band joists on the first and second floors.  Blocking was completed in the kitchen and bath, fireblocking at the stairs and the gable ends.  A sliding door was replaced as well as the latch.  Some of the volunteers moved items into our storage unit.  All worked hard and there was even a bit a fun thrown in.  Many thanks to Vineyard Vines for a weekend to remember and for the great work done!

February 18, 2008 - On Friday the volunteers sanded the interior doors. Four volunteers picked up a kitchen and moved it to the storage trailer for future use. A schedule was planned for Saturday’s work day. On Saturday, a contractor came to review the use of blown in insulation.. We hope to get the electrical and plumbing finished this week and then the three inspections (framing, electrical and plumbing ) done by Saturday the 23rd so insulation can be done in a week’s time. On Saturday we also insulated about half the band joists in the basement before the volunteers had to leave to drive back to Connecticut. If things go according to plan, we will be fully insulated by March 8.

November 26, 2007 - Habitat for Humanity of MV needs experienced roofers to help shingle the roof of their 5th house.
Build days are Friday and Saturday from 8:30 - 3:30. If you would like to help, please come by the build site located off Edgartown/V.H. road and follow signs to house.

October 22, 2007 - HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF MV IS RAISING THE ROOF !! Habitat for Humanity of MV is seeking volunteers with roofing experience to help with our 5th house this Friday and Saturday from 8:30 - 4:00. The build site is located off Edgartown/Vineyard Haven Road.
