2007 - OUR YEAR IN REVIEW
More Than Art Auction
Our fifth annual art auction was held on Friday, May 25th at the Harbor View Hotel in Edgartown. Art by local and national artists was featured in both a silent and live auction overseen by auctioneer extraordinaire Bob Glover.
Habitat for Humanity House Walk
Habitat for Humanity of Martha's Vineyard's annual House Walk was held on Saturday, June 16th. The 4 ½ mile walk extended from Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs to the Edgartown Triangle.
Summer Cocktail Parties
In an effort to reach out to donors and donor prospects in a more friendly and warm setting, we held a series of fundraisers at private homes. Party hosts opened their doors, invited their friends and neighbors and covered the party costs.
Hole-in-One and Putting Tournament
Our second annual golfing event was held on Sunday, September 30th at Farm Neck Golf Club. Although a $250 cash prize was offered to every hole-in-one winner, there were no takers. There were 4 tied winners for the putting contest. Each of the winners received $50 gift certificates to various island restaurants and businesses.

OTHERS DOING THEIR PART
In addition to the events featured above, a few island residents and businesses chose to coordinate events that would benefit Habitat for Humanity of Martha's Vineyard. Below are some highlights:
Taco Eating Contest
The owners of Sharky's Cantina in Oak Bluffs hosted the first annual Taco Eating Contest on Saturday, May 5th to benefit Habitat for Humanity of Martha's Vineyard. It was a great success.
MV Film Festival Summer Series at the Tabernacle
Richard Paradise and the Martha's Vineyard Film Festival chose to partner with us to host a film at the Tabernacle in Oak Bluffs on Tuesday, July 24th. This was the first of what we hope will become an annual event.
Bocce Tournament
Seasonal resident Andy Vandal and his friends hosted an island-wide Bocce Tournament at Waban Park in Oak Bluffs. The event was held on a perfect August day.
RocktOberfest at Outerland
Conflicts with the Red Sox World Series game and the undefeated New England Patriots' team playing the undefeated Colts led to the postponement of this second annual event.
