HABITAT FOR HUMANITY OF MARTHA'S VINEYARD, INC.

Our Mission is to build simple, decent housing for families in the lowest qualifying income range. Our homes are built with volunteer labor, donated materials and charitable donations. We believe that addressing the lack of affordable housing – one house at a time – will keep our island a healthy, vital community.

YOUR ISLAND HABITAT

Your Island Habitat is growing by leaps and bounds.  This year we completed a home in January, and are well under way with another home and will begin breaking ground on a Duplex this winter.  We are also trying to locate land to move 1-3 homes to re-purpose it for another family.   Additionally, we are active in obtaining building and appliance donations across the Island  in order to promote a green community and keep our landfills clear.   

Habitat builds simple, well-made homes that are affordable to own and operate; we help keep our community stable by allowing our most critical resource—PEOPLE—to remain in our community.
